Hi everyone! For this week’s blog post I decided to do something different and review the top 5 songs on the Billboard Pop 100 charts. I think there are millions of songs that could make the top 100 that I enjoy, but I’m going to be reviewing the most popular pop songs at the moment. 5. “Trap Queen”- Fetty Wap: Personally, this is one of my favorite pop or hip hop songs at the moment. It’s more of a rap song, yet it is so catchy that it could be considered as pop as well. Its lyrics are kind of repetitive, but it’s easy to get this song into your head. This song sounds like something the rapper, Drake, would be featured in since it’s a lower rap song with a nice beat. I can see this song becoming more and more popular as time goes on. 4. “Sugar”- Maroon 5: Maroon 5 is known for making catchy songs that everyone gets stuck in their heads. Maroon 5 is known for popular songs such as: “Maps”, “Animals”, “She Will Be Loved,” “One More Night”, “Payphone”, and many others. Maroon 5 is such a successful band. They just released a new album that featured “Sugar”, “Maps”, and “Animals.” While “Maps” and “Animals” are catchy songs too, I think “Sugar” is the best song out of the three. I like the lyrics the most and the chorus is so fun to sing along to. 3. “Earned It”- The Weeknd: I really like this song because it’s slower than a lot of the songs on the top 100, but it has a strong beat in the background. The Weeknd has such a unique voice that I love to listen to and I think everyone should listen to this romantic song. I’m very optimistic that this song will continue to reach it’s way to the top of the list. 2. “Uptown Funk”-Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars: This song is not one of my favorites because it has been constantly played over and over. Radio stations overplayed this song and now I can’t really stand to listen to it. It would still be a fun party or school dance song, but it’s not a pop song I would just listen to on my free time because I hear it so much everywhere else. 1. “See You Again” Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth: I really like this song because it’s slower, yet there are parts that include rapping which I think really enhances and transitions the song well. It has so many different sounds in one song. I really like the normal singing and the rapping together in this song. I also enjoy the message and lyrics this song contains. Overall, I think these are really great top 5 songs. I love all types of music, but it’s good to see songs that are actually good and catchy be on the top like they should be. Let me know what you think of these songs or what you think should be in the top 5 pop songs! I can review any song, movie, book, or tv show. Leave me recommendations of what to review next!
